"Urban Art"
BertSlagt's unique creation 'Times Square NY' was born straight from the heart, the memory of pictures and a coca-cola tin in his hand. A study topic, "make me an abstract of a Metropole". The question beckoned, 'What does a Metropole look like? What does it feel like? What does it sound like?'  A Metropole is quite specific and tangible, but abstracting it into art form is quite a challenge, and one which VanBert stepped up to with the usual passion and commitment reflective of all his art. In the end the abstract might become an impression, but who cares?

"Urban Art"
Het thema over steden gaat eigenlijk over de belevenis die bezoekers ervaren in een bijzondere stad. BertSlagt geeft in 2004 een eerste aanzet tot dit thema "Beautiful Cities of the World" met een impressie van het beroemde Times Square New York. Uitgangspunt was een abstract werk te schilderen van een willekeurige metropool. Inspiratie kreeg hij toen van het logo op een coca-cola blikje. TimesSquare is uiteindelijk een impressie geworden dat geheel vanuit zijn verbeeldingskracht is opgetrokken.
